TerraViewer™ is an add-on to MapInfo Professional™ 6.5 (or higher) or ArcGIS™ 8.2 (or higher) that seamlessly integrates the Microsoft Research TerraServer USA web service and makes it available to desktop mapping users.

Premium Color Imagery

With the TerraViewer Plus Premium Edition for MapInfo Pro users can view and purchase premium aerial imagery made available by GlobeXplorer our premium content partner. Imagery is automatically geoferenced within MapInfo Pro and uses the imagery native projection where possible.

Aerial Photography (USGS DOQs)

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) archived black and white aerial photography maps made available by the TerraServer web service can be viewed directly within MapInfo Professional™ or ESRI ArcGIS. Images are automatically geoferenced to line up with your current mapping window seamlessly.

Topographic Maps

The USGS archived 16 color Topographic maps made available by the TerraServer web service can be viewed directly within MapInfo Professional™ or ERSI ArcGIS.

Seamless integration with MapInfo Professional.

The current map view is automatically refreshed with the raster image every time the map view is altered by panning around or zooming in and out of the map.

Overlay Vector Data

Use the aerial images or topographic maps as a backdrop to your vector based streets, boundaries and custom data.

Simple User Interface

Simple intuitive toggle map ‘on’ and ‘off’ menu interface.

	The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) provides the TerraServer site with images and maps of the United States.
	GlobeXplorer provides TerraViewer Plus with the premium imagery content.
