Aerial Photography (DOQs)

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) archived black and white aerial imagery will be displayed in your current map view in areas where the Urban Areas imagery is unavailable.

Topographic Maps

The USGS archived 16 color Topographic maps made available by the TerraServer web service can be viewed directly within Microsoft MapPoint™.

Seamless integration with Microsoft MapPoint.

The current map view is automatically refreshed with the raster image every time the map view is altered by panning around or zooming in and out of the map.

Variable Transparancy

The TerraViewer imagery can be made semi-transparent, so you can still see roads and labels from the standard MapPoint map, while at the same time seeing the Aerial Imagery from the USGS.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) provides the TerraServer site with images and maps of the United States.
